University of British Columbia Vancouver, British Columbia September 1994 - May 1996 Master of Science, Computer Science I specialized in computer graphics working in the Imager Laboratory under the supervision of Alain Fournier. My thesis was entitled Properties of Tabulated Bi-Directional Reflectance Distribution Functions. My work focused on developing measurements for several properties of BRDFs which aided in improved physical simulation and greatly reduced storage requirements for the BRDF data. The results were published at the Graphics Interface conference in 1997.

| Other Experience: |
SquawkBox SquawkBox is an add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator that facilitates flying online with others using live air traffic control systems. It interfaces with other flight simulators and air traffic control simulators to connect pilots and air traffic controllers together. ATC services are provided using text or voice. The software is used primarily on the VATSIM network. SquawkBox was originally created in 1997 and now enjoys a user base in the tens of thousands. I completely re-wrote the application and released it in March 2005. It is used daily by thousands of users. I received the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award in 2006 because of my involvement in the Microsoft Flight Simulator community.
DeskCam DeskCam is a Win32 application that automatically fetches images from web cams on the internet and displays the images as a desktop background. It will also save images for a specified period of time and can create time-lapse movies from the saved images. Versions 1 and 2 were released as freeware.
Systems Administration I have extensive experience building and maintaining Linux-based server architecture, hosting back-end services such as web and e-mail. I have implemented custom data-driven Mail Transfer Agent setups, have experience with services like Samba in multi-platform environments, and can effectively manage user and data security in a Linux environment.
Web development I have developed a number of web sites, from the graphic design of the pages themselves, to the implementation of back-ends using HTML/CSS, PHP and databases such as mySQL. Examples of my web site work are available on request.
